Sailing enthusiasts in Burnham-On-Sea headed into Bridgwater Bay in a flotilla of yachts during the second week of town’s regatta.

The annual event finished at the weekend after four competitive races in mixed weather conditions.

The club’s David Humphrey told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We had two good weekends of racing – there were strong winds at times, but everyone finished and enjoyed it.”

Dave Jackson, on Super Saphire, took first place in the final standings at the Regatta.

He was followed in second place by Andy and Sue Walker in Merlin and Rodney Southwell in Merlin, in third, joint with Geoff Tanner in Melody. Dave Jackson’s Super Saphire also took first place in the handicap category and finished third in the pursuit race. Andy and Sue Walker took second in the handicap, while Dave Williams in Tektar was third. Geoff Tanner in Melody won the pursuit, followed by Rodney Southwell in Merlin.
