Today: Pirate Fun Day to be held on Burnham-On-Sea beach


A free pirate-themed family fun day is to be held on Burnham-On-Sea’s beach this Saturday (August 29th).

The family event is to be held on the town’s south beach near to the jetty.

A number of activities are being lined up, including pirate-themed games, fun workshops for children, water games and more.

Young pirates and their families are invited to assemble at 2pm to hone their battle skills.

“There will be water bombs, navigation games, walking the plank and team building skills – but watch out for the sharks! – and Mo the Bubble Man will be bringing his gigantic bubbles,” said organiser Gaynor Brown. “Those who excel can even have their skills certified by Captain Hook at the end of the event.”

This will be a free event run by BOS Events that’s aimed at over-5’s. Younger children are welcome to make bubbles and build sand boats. Morrisons will kndly be supplying 30 wooden pallets to construct the rafts for Pirate Day.
