There event saw a sale of used clothing, bric a brac and toys, refreshments, cakes, a raffle and tombola plus a visit by several Frozen characters.

Padam Rai from the Gurkha Welfare Trust told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It has been a terrible few weeks after the earthquake, but we are very grateful for the support from your country and all the local people.”

Organiser Lynda Hobbs added: “I’m actually quite emotional and overwhelmed at the wonderful support shown by people here in Burnham.”

“We had a large number of donations for the sale – the amount has been incredible and we thank everyone who has given us their support, helping us to raise £1,046. I would also like to thank Georgina Blackmore and Leanne Underhill for all their support in helping to run the event.”
