The Somerset Skills & Learning Centre in Burnham-On-Sea will be holding an open day on Tuesday (7th July) when visitors will be able to find out more about its workshops at courses.

The event will be held from 1pm-6.30pm and will showcase the many new learning opportunities at the centre in Princess Street.

The free workshops will include Tai Chi, French, Sugarcraft, Computing, Gardening and Art, all courses that can be joined later this year.

“If you have any young adults at home, there is also information on the range of apprenticeships available. Everyone who attends will get a free goodie bag and be entered into a prize draw,” said a spokesman.

“Other attractions include a small craft fair of local artists, the entries into a painting competition and a stand up comedy finale. The day is free to attend and there is 10% off any courses you fancy trying.”

Queen Elsa will also be one of the attractions when, for an hour after school, children can meet the Frozen VIP, have their photo taken, and pick up the new Adult Learning Guide from Somerset Skills & Learning.

There are still some places available for those who would like a stall in the craft fair, and entries into the painting competition can be accepted until Friday 3rd July. Call 01278 783057 for more details or see www.sslcic.co.uk.
