Burnham-On-Sea Kite Festival is set to be held for the first time this weekend on both Saturday and Sunday.

The free event, to be held on the town’s beach, will see families encouraged to fly their kites and instruction will be available from experts.

Organiser Gaynor Brown told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It’s a very informal event with displays on the main beach throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday and a party on Saturday night with Elvis on the seafront lawns at 7pm, followed by an illuminated kite display.”

“If you have a kite come and join us. If you don’t, come and try one of ours. Kite flyers are coming from various parts of the country to teach us how to make and fly kites.”

The free event, to be held on Burnham’s main beach, will be held on Saturday September 12th from 11am-8.30pm and on Sunday September 13th from 11am-4pm.
