Burnham’s general election candidates to appear at hustings tonight

-

Voters in Burnham-On-Sea will get a chance to hear a debate involving five of the town’s General Election candidates this evening (Tuesday, April 21st).

Burnham’s Election Hustings meeting will be held at Burnham Baptist Church in College Street at 7.30pm, to which all members of the public are welcome.

The candidates from the five main political parties – James Heappey (Conservative), Jon Cousins (Green), Chris Inchley (Labour), Tessa Munt (Lib Dem) and Helen Hims (UKIP) – are scheduled to attend.

The evening will be chaired by Ruth Chambers, Chair of Governors at Berrow CoE School and Chancellor of the Diocese of Norwich.

In order to ensure that as wide a range of issues as possible can be discussed, voters were asked earlier this month to submit questions before the meeting and over 50 were received. Several of these will be asked during today’s session.

The evening is being organised on behalf of the Churches in Burnham-On-Sea for the community and all members of the public are invited.
