Life-saving defibrillator unveiled at Burnham-On-Sea seafront hotel

-

This life-saving piece of equipment has been installed at a Burnham-On-Sea hotel for the public’s use this week.

The Royal Clarence Hotel on The Esplanade has purchased a fully-automated defibrillator for use in medical emergencies.

The machine, a Lifepak CRplus, has cost the business £1,250 to buy.

“Hotel guests, bar customers and members of the public located nearby will now have the use of this life saving machine, which can make an enormous difference to someone suffering a sudden Cardiac Arrest,” said the hotel’s Paul Chatwin.

“The machine will be available from 9am to 10.30pm on seven days a week and is available from staff in the hotel reception and/or bar.”

SouthWest NHS will be adding details of the hotel to their database of machines in the local area and will direct people to the seafront property if needed.

The first three minutes following a Sudden Cardiac Arrest are crucial for the patient and machines such as this can save lives while awaiting the arrival of ambulance staff. More details here.
