£1,400 raised for Burnham Hospital during blue-themed fundraiser!

-

Over £1,400 was raised for Burnham-On-Sea Hospital when supporters held a colourful social evening on Saturday (March 7th).

150 people attended The Friends of Burnham Hospital’s blue-themed fundraiser at The Oaktree in Highbridge.

The guests enjoyed an excellent meal and then danced to a broad repertoire of music performed by the very talented Lipinski Band.

In 10 minutes of the meal break a tombola raised in excess of £600 towards a total evening’s profit of £1400.

The evening was a sell-out and as a special event is in the planning for the 50th anniversary of the Friends next year it is expected that tickets for this will be very much in demand when they become available.

Tony Deahl, Chairman of the Friends, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It was a fantastic evening, partly because of the excellence of the band and partly because of the welcome and co-operation we get from Debbie Hancock and her excellent staff at The Oaktree.”

“We are extremely grateful to those businesses and individuals who donated the 100 prizes in the tombola.”

“Every penny of the money raised will go towards making life better for both patients and staff at our hospital, a facility which we in Burnham are very proud of.”
