Burnham-On-Sea motorists warned of delays as new roadworks start

-

Motorists are being warned to expect more disruption in Burnham-On-Sea over the next month as major roadworks get underway.

The Frank Foley Parkway and Love Lane will be partially closed when gas mains replacement works gets underway by Western Gas Alliance.

Phase one will see a south-bound closure of the Frank Foley Way for one week from 23rd February to March 1st.

Phase two will see the Frank Foley Way shut north-bound and Love Lane closed west-bound from 2nd March for four weeks.

Diversions will be in place throughout the roadworks via Pepperall Road, but town councillors have already expressed concern that this will lead to extra traffic through residential areas of Burnham.

Meanwhile, work to build a new pedestrian crossing will also get underway on Monday 23rd February in Berrow Road when traffic lights will be in place.

Details on alternative routes are available from Somerset County Council on 0845 345 9155.
