Crowds of people attended a six-hour free live music event in Burnham-On-Sea on Saturday (June 20th) to raise funds for the town’s folk festival.

The Folkfest Family Fun Day attracted large numbers of supporters to the Burnham Road Playing Fields besides the Bay Centre, where stalls and live, entertainment, music and displays were laid on.

The crowd enjoyed music from local acts including Emily Elswood, Odds To End, Tim Fardon, Driftwood, Daft Folk and Chiller.

“It was a really great day with superb weather, lots of fantastic music and great support. A big thank you goes to all those who helped to make it a success,” organiser Tanya Dyer told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

There were also several stalls set-up around the fields, selling local crafts and refreshments plus entertainment from Hillview Carnival Club, the Zone Youth Club, the Youth Council and the boxing club.

There was also entertainment from Mo the bubble man, a Kidzone with hair braiding, face painting and a bouncy castle plus many others including the amateur radio club.
