Firefighters called to Highbridge blaze after concerns on M5 motorway

-

Firefighters were called to Highbridge on Saturday afternoon (January 17th) after a motorist on the M5 called 999 when smoke was reportedly drifting towards the motorway.

A fire crew from Burnham-On-Sea was called to investigate at the rear of the former Woodberry factory site at around 4pm.

“There were concerns that the fire at the site may have been out of control, but we confirmed this was controlled burning, and no further action was needed,” a fire spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
