Police appeal for witnesses after robbery at Burnham petrol station

Police have appealed for witnesses after a robbery saw cash stolen from petrol station in Burnham-On-Sea in a late night raid on Monday (January 26th).

Officers investigating the incident say they are keen to hear from anyone who saw the two men entering or leaving the Esso garage in Burnham Road at 11.25pm.

The men threatened a cashier then seized a quantity of cash from a till before fleeing. Staff raised the alarm and police were quickly on scene and a police helicopter flew above the site.

Police spokesman Craig Evry told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “At about 11.25pm on Monday, two men went into the TCS Viscount garage in Burnham Road and stole a quantity of money from a till. There was a shop assistant in the garage at the time, who was shaken but unharmed.”

“The men had their faces partially covered. They were both white. One was described as medium build, around 6ft, in his twenties, while the second was in his early twenties, around 5ft 7ins and of skinny build.”

“If anyone saw or heard anything suspicious in the area, or has information which could assist the inquiry, please call us via 101 and quote log number 9193/15.”
