Crews rescue two occupants of digger after collision with power lines

-

Burnham-On-Sea fire crews were called to this digger after it collided with power cables in Highbridge on Monday evening (July 27th).

Two fire appliances from Burnham were sent to a lane next to Bristol Road in Highbridge at 4.55pm.

“Crews confirmed the digger had made contact with the high voltage cables with two persons still inside the vehicle,” a spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“Crews set to work to cordon off the area whilst waiting the arrival of Western Power, who isolated the power. The two occupants were then released from the vehicle unharmed.”

The incident led to power being temporarily cut to residents in the area.
