A series of flares were fired into the sky to illuminate Burnham-On-Sea’s coastline on Wednesday evening (April 8th) during a Coastguard exercise.
Crews from Burnham and Weston took part in a successful joint exercise with BARB Search & Rescue on Burnham beach.
A number of different sea and mud rescue scenarios were rehearsed during the event to assess the teams.
An exercise is held each year near the start of the tourist season as the crews prepare for a busy few months ahead.
