A record 100 entries will be taking part in the 19th annual Brean Rally this weekend.

The 2015 Brean Stages Rally will roar into action on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th January at Brean Leisure Park.

With the event hosting the opening rounds of three major regional championships, the competition for top honours is bound to be keen.

The rally has received entries from all around the UK and is one of the West’s largest and most popular motor sports events.

It actually gets under way for the competitors on Friday 23rd January when the pre-rally scrutineering event will be held in Weston-super-Mare. The rally cars will arrive at Weston College’s new Automotive and Motorsport Technology Centre on the Locking Road from 1pm on Friday afternoon until approximately 7pm for a pre- rally inspection by the events scrutineers. This facility will be open to the public who will get the opportunity to view the rally cars and meet the drivers.

Entered for the second year at Brean will be the 2011 British Truck Racing Association champion driver, Dave Jenkins, probably better known for his exploits on TV driving the slip-streaming truck for bike racer Guy Martin in the channel 4 programme ‘Speed’.

Six special stages will be completed throughout Saturday with a further six stages on Sunday and an added Trophy Rally incorporating those competitors who were unfortunate to retire from the rally on the Saturday stages and who manage to put things back together for the Sunday morning re-start.

The rally is held entirely within the grounds of Brean Leisure Park and is organised and promoted by locally based Club Rallysport West.

Spectators are welcome into the park over both days and indoor and outdoor catering facilities will be available.

The organisers have ensured that spectators are well looked after with three viewing areas, one of which has a covered grandstand giving excellent viewing across the inner field stages.

Spectators will be admitted to the park over both days of the rally with an admission charge of just £5 (accompanied children under 12 will be admitted free) and car parking will be £5. Gates open on both days from 8.30am.
