Filming of new Channel 4 TV series underway on Berrow Beach

-

Berrow beach has been turned into a TV set this week as a new science and engineering series for Channel 4 is being filmed.

TV production company Nerd TV is filming a new series for Channel 4 and National Geographic. These were the scenes on Tuesday as the filming got underway – with a fire engine and high-ladder!

The series takes the most fascinating and exciting online clips from around the world and questions if the footage is real or fake, before attempting to recreate it with two presenters – one a maverick scientist, the other a human guinea pig.

Sedgemoor District Council, which oversees Berrow Beach, says the company was looking for a beach location with good road access and chose Berrow when it was found to meet its requirement.

A council spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Sedgemoor are delighted to work with Nerd TV and together with the Council’s Resorts Officer we have been able, within six days of receiving the enquiry, to get the location agreement and all other logistics in place to allow filming to commence.”

“Sedgemoor is a film-friendly council and welcomes opportunities to work with film and TV productions companies looking for locations in this beautiful part of the South West.”
