Burnham’s BARB Search & Rescue held a successful open day and fundraising hovercraft pull on Saturday (April 11th).

A stream of visitors called in at the seafront charity, which operates two hovercrafts and an inshore rescue boat, during the day-long event.

Mayor Martin Cox and Town Crier Alistair Murray opened the event, as pictured below. It started with a fundraising hovercraft pull by crewmembers through the town centre.

“Our thanks go to all those people who supported us through the day,” said a spokesman. “The event was held to raise seaside safety awareness and also give visitors a chance to see our hovercrafts up close and meet our dedicated volunteer crewmembers.”
