Final day of badger-themed Easter open weekend at Secret World today

-

Spring has begun at Secret World Wildlife Rescue near Burnham-On-Sea with three badger cubs currently requiring around-the-clock feeds – and the work of the charity is open to the public today (Monday).

The first badger cub named ‘Little Star’ hit the headlines in February when she survived despite all the odds. She is growing every day, from 80g to over a kilo since her arrival.

She was recently joined by another 8-week old badger cub called ‘Vogue’. A third cub arrived only a week ago from Cheddar after being found with injuries caused by a dog.

Secret World has opened its doors to the public for its annual Easter Bank Holiday ‘Badger Bonanza’ weekend.

Visitors to the centre will be able to catch a glimpse of the black and white trio, along with other orphans such as fox cubs who are among the first to be cared for this year.

The special open weekend enables visitors to find out more about badgers. The bottle-fed badger cubs will be shown at 12pm and 3pm each day.

Half-hourly animal presentations will also be available throughout the day including foxes, ferret racing and hedgehog talks.

Doors are open from 10am-4pm from Good Friday through to Easter Monday. Donations are requested in lieu of admission. Secret World receives no government funding and relies entirely on donations.
