Video: Air guitar record attempt by Tesco staff in Burnham-On-Sea!

Staff at Burnham-On-Sea’s Tesco supermarket have taken part in a nationwide bid to break the world record for a mass air guitar performance!

Over 30 staff got into a festival spirit at the Burnham store on Saturday (August 15th) when they held their own ‘Rock The Shop’ event to raise money for Diabetes UK and the British Heart Foundation (BHF).

The store in Ben Travers Way asked customers to dig deep and support their two nominated charities.

The staff joined in with hundreds of other stores across the UK in a world record breaking attempt of the largest air guitar ensemble.

“The event was a lot of fun and nothing like it has been held before at the Burnham store, and it was all for a good cause,” said Helen Plowman, personnel manager at the Burnham store.

“We look forward to finding out soon whether we have helped to break the world record, which was previously 2,378.”

This event was part of a three year partnership between Tesco, Diabetes UK and the BHF aimed at helping save lives by supporting millions of people to eat better and get active, reducing their risk of serious ill-health in the future, as well as helping to fund their work.
