Burnham’s Christmas lights installed in build-up to grand switch-on

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s Christmas lights are being installed in the town centre this week ahead of the official switch-on later this month.

75 lights are being installed on lamp posts and buildings by local firm Rob Davey Electricals to add a dash of festive colour to the town’s main shopping areas.

The display is overseen by Burnham Chamber of Trade. A spokesman said this week: “Seeing the lights being installed always creates a little festive excitement ahead of the switch-on.”

BBC Points West presenter Alex Lovell has the role of switching on the lights on Saturday November 22nd, as featured here, outside the Victoria Hotel in Victoria Street.

The switch-on at 4.45pm will be preceded by an afternoon of festive entertainment featuring local groups and a food and craft market.
