Met Office issues weather warning for Burnham as storm sweeps in

-

The Met Office has issued another severe weather warning for the Burnham-On-Sea area today (Wednesday) with gusts of up to 70mph expected to hit.

Forecasters have issued a yellow warning for wind as a weather front is predicted to move across the region today.

The strong winds will be combined with more rain and are expected to stay in the region until Thursday.

It spans two of four days of severe weather warnings delivered by the Met Office for the region this week with up to 30mm of rain expected to fall.

A spokesman said the weather front would bring with it an increased chance of further flooding. He said: “Rain will fall on already wet ground so there is the potential for further flood risk across the South West.”
