Police are investigating several incidents in Brean and Burnham-On-Sea that occurred following England’s opening World Cup match at the weekend.

A scuffle involving a large group of people broke out in Cross Street at around 2am on Sunday morning soon after England’s match against Italy ended. Many people had crowed into pubs in the town to watch the game.

Police said at least four council rubbish bins in Brean were also set alight during the early hours of Sunday, causing hundreds of pounds of damage.

Burnham Police are appealing for anyone with information to get in contact via the none-emergency number 101.
