Over 260 athletes of all ages took part in Burnham-On-Sea’s Spring Triathlon on Sunday (April 27th).

Organised by Burnham-On-Sea Swim and Sports Academy, the Super Sprint Triathlon and Junior Triathlon were held in mild, but blustery weather conditions.

The event saw a record 260 partcipants, with the adult competitors completing a gruelling 250m swim, 10km bike ride and a 2.5km run while the youngsters completed a shorter course.

Organiser Martin Rogers told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We had a really good turnout today – this was the highest-ever number of entries for this event.”

“There was some really competitive action and our thanks go to all the athletes, marshalls and local residents for their support. It was a great success.”
