Burnham-On-Sea store’s race to the North Pole raises charity cash

-

Hundreds of pounds has been raised for charity when Burnham-On-Sea’s Tesco store held a two-day race to the North Pole.

Staff at the supermarket in Ben Travers Way pedalled hundreds of miles on static fitness bikes at the front of the store to attract donations from customers for Diabetes UK.

“The event was held throughout Friday and Saturday and has received really super support from staff and customers,” store manager Hayley Roberts told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“It’s been a bit of a fun while raising money for a great cause at the same time,” she said. “Diabetes UK is our charity of the year and next year we’ll be helping the British Heart Foundation too.”
