Staff from Burnham’s Tesco store help floods clean-up in Moorland

-

Staff from Burnham-On-Sea’s Tesco store have been helping the floods clean-up operation in a village on the Somerset Levels.

A dozen team members volunteered to help out in Moorland and Fordgate on Sunday (April 6th), working to assist with the clear up operation after the recent floods.

“We spent the day meeting some amazing people that have been affected yet are still so upbeat and just getting on with it,” said store manager Jo Lewis.

“We helped them clear gardens, houses and also emptied garages and moved personal possessions. Seeing the devastation first hand and the amount of work still to do has prompted us to organise a second event on April 27th.”

“We would really love some of our customers to get involved too so if you are interested please come along to the store and speak to a member of our Customer Service Team.”

“We would like to say a huge thank you to Dawn, Mark and Stewart for their amazing hospitality and the work they are continuing to do every day.”

The team involved included Jo Lewis, Store Manager, with Tia Pullen, Deputy Manager, and staff members Lenny, Morag, Katerina, Edward, Gemma, Garry, Pete and Sarah, Roscoe and Ali.
