Burnham Tae Kwon-Do students head to British Championships

-

Students from Burnham-On-Sea’s Tae Kwon-do Club are gearing up to take part in this weekend’s TAGB British Championships in Worcester.

Around 1,800 competitors from across the country, as well as Europe, will be competing in the largest national competition of the year this Sunday (30th November).

Among them will be Phoebe Delafaille and Max Bradley, pictured, who train at the Tae Kwon-Do Club at King Alfred School in Highbridge.

They are both top of the leader board for the coveted Competitor of the Year Award and are really excited about this final competition.

Senior Instructor Jane Lambert told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Max and Phoebe are both very active members of the club. Phoebe has been top of the table for most of the year but Max is a very close second.”

“With one competition left a gold medal or two could make all the difference! Whatever happens I’m extremely proud of both of them, there dedication, sportsmanship and camaraderie never ceases to amaze me!. Fingers crossed they will both bring back medals.”

Phoebe and Max are two of the 11 students that the club has taking part, along with five Black Belts who are officiating.

The club welcomes newcomers from age 6 upwards on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6.30pm in King Alfred School.
