Burnham-On-Sea pub holds St George’s Day celebration for charity

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s Royal Clarence is holding a special St George’s Day Celebration today (Wednesday, April 23rd) with several events to raise money for local rescue services.

The pub’s lounge bar is being decorated in style to promote this national day.

Staff will be dressed in St George Fancy Dress and customers are offered a free drink if they also wear an English themed costume too.

From around 6.30pm, Somerset opera singer Tim Pitman will be performing a special ‘Last Night of The Proms’ show, with lots of flag waving and sing-alongs for the audience to join in with.

Then, at 8pm, the pub will be hosting a St George’s Day Quiz in aid of charity. Entry is just £1 per person and teams are limited to four people. We shall have drink giveaways and other prizes too.

“This is a great opportunity to raise the profile of St George’s Day whilst also helping the charity,” said the pub’s Paul Chatwin.
