Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge’s skate park looks set to be given a £73,000 revamp as part of a major modernisation project.

Sedgemoor District Council, which oversees Apex Park, has launched a project to give the facilities a much-needed upgrade.

The council has submitted a request for £58,395.20 of RLT3 development funding towards the overall cost of £72,994 of the project, with the remaining cash coming from the council’s Parks Development Budget.

“We want to replace the original ramps that were installed in 2004 at Apex Skate Park which have reached the end of their life expectancy,” a spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“This application will address the significant issue of the original ramps falling into disrepair and improve the experience for users of the well-used facility.”

The proposals are due to be considered at a meeting later this month.
