Burnham-On-Sea Police to mark ‘Safer Internet Day’ this week

-

Burnham-On-Sea Police will be joining hundreds of other organisations across the country in holding an event to mark Safer Internet Day and promote the safe and responsible use of technology.

Safer Internet Day 2014 is being held on Tuesday 11th February, with the theme of ‘Let’s create a better Internet together’, offering the opportunity to focus on both the creative things that children and young people are doing online, as well as the role that we all play in helping to create a better internet.

Burnham Town Centre Beat Team will have a display in the window of Burnham Library in Princess Street from 7th-14th February with useful tips and information on offer promoting the safe use of the internet.

Burnham Police will also be in the town on Tuesday 11th February handing out advice and information.

The annual event is organised by the UK Safer Internet Centre to promote the safe and responsible use of online technology and mobile phones for children and young people.

The UK Safer Internet Centre is a partnership of three leading charitable organisations, Childnet International, the South West Grid for Learning (SWGfL) and the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF). These organisations are committed to working to make a safer and better Internet.
