This spectacular rainbow formed in the skies over Burnham-On-Sea on Monday evening (August 25th) in between a day of heavy showers.

The colourful formation was visible at around 6pm over the high lighthouse in Berrow Road.

It followed a day of heavy showers which some might say are a traditional part of a British Bank Holiday!

A weather station in Brent Knoll measured 11.6mm of rainfall during the day which left pools of standing water on many local roads, creating hazardous road conditions.

Queues of holiday traffic formed going out of Burnham from mid-morning as tourists travelled home early due to the wet forecast.
