Pot holes in Burnham-On-Sea will be repaired soon, pledges council

-

Burnham-On-Sea motorists have this week been assured by Somerset County Council that pot holes in the town will be repaired soon.

A series of storms and heavy rain over the winter months have left a number of pot holes on crumbling roads in Burnham, including several in Marine Drive, as pictured here.

The holes can damage passing vehicles and are dangerous to cyclists who have to carefully navigate their way around them.

Peter Elliott, a spokesman for Somerset County Council, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We are aware that the road at Marine Drive has deteriorated and we are monitoring it closely, ready to take action when required.”

“Wet and cold winter weather does have a detrimental effect on road conditions and we work hard to repair potential hazards as quickly as possible.”

“We carry out formal inspections regularly and prioritise potholes by their severity based on a number of factors.”

To report potholes on local roads, call Somerset County Council on 0845 345 9155.
