Burnham-On-Sea pupils plant poppies in town’s ‘field of remembrance’

-

A group of pupils from Burnham-On-Sea’s St Andrew’s Junior School has this week planted more than 100 poppies in the ‘field of remembrance’ at the town’s Manor Gardens.

Led by teacher Jane Bewick, the pupils planted the poppies in the special area set aside in front of the Manor House on Friday (November 7th).

“The project stimulated great interest in our school and we feel we have played a small part in commemorating the 100th anniversary of the First World War,” said the school’s head teacher, Gavin Morris.

“We will also be taking part in Sunday’s Remembrance Service at Burnham’s War Memorial and we are extremely proud to be involved in these special community occasions.”
