A pigeon is recovering after being found shot with an airgun in Highbridge.

Volunteers from Secret World Wildlife Rescue were called to a car park in the town after residents spotted the struggling bird.

They took it back to their centre in East Huntspill where the bird is making a recovery.

“Sadly this is the third animal cruelty case we have seen in the last few weeks,” said a spokesman.

“This pigeon was found in a car park in Highbridge. After the bullet was removed the pigeon is now recovering.”
