Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge parks appeal for more volunteers

-

Two groups who run Burnham and Highbridge’s award-winning parks have this week issued an appeal for more volunteers.

The Friends of Marine Cove in Burnham and The Friends of Apex Park in Highbridge are seeking more local people to help with events, projects and activities.

Sam Taylor, spokeswoman for Sedgemoor District Council, which owns the parks, said: “The two groups who run the Green Flag winning parks are keen to hear from any individuals or groups interested in helping at their events, or helping to promote the gardens, undertaking gardening, or taking part in environmental projects.”

Jacqui Strong, Sedgemoor’s Marine Cove Community Gardener, added: “It would be really great if our wonderful group of volunteers grew in 2015. The Friends are a huge asset to the gardens and I really enjoy working with local residents to increase the number and quality of events we hold.”

If you would like more information about volunteering at Marine Cove or Apex Park, please email community.services@sedgemoor.gov.uk or call Sedgemoor District Council on 01278 436420.
