Highbridge gymnasts head to Germany for international competition

-

A group of 35 gymnasts from Highbridge’s Monarchs Acrobatic Gymnastics Club are heading to Germany over the coming week.

The youngsters will be competing in an international competition in the city of Mainz next week.

They will be showing their skills alongside three other clubs from Britain – one from East Kilbride, another from West Lothian in Scotland, and one from Cork in Southern Ireland.

There will also be teams from Russia, Denmark, Italy and Switzerland, as well as other teams from Germany, including the host club from Mainz.

“This will be the first time that many members of the Monarchs team will have competed in an international competition, including the youngest pair, Jack Warburton, 7, and Jack Hunt, 6,” the club’s Mandy Warburton told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“We have a fantastic group of parents coming to support our team, some of whom will be driving and others who are flying out.”

“As it will be Halloween over the weekend, the host club have organised a huge Halloween party for all taking part and the supporters.”

“SDS have once again very kindly sponsored us with training T-shirts for the competition and we would like to thank them for their continued support.”
