Burnham-On-Sea Christmas fair helps raise charity cash for MNDA

-

A Christmas Fayre held in Burnham-On-Sea has raised over £200 for MNDA (Motor Neurone Disease Association).

The well attended event at St Andrew’s Church Hall on Sunday (14th December) included beauty therapies, craft stalls, woodcraft, handmade gifts and confectionery.

Organiser Carrie Keane, pictured above centre, said the event had been a great success, raising a total of £235.96.

She is now planning a further fundraising event in June. “I am doing the Grand Union Challenge on the 27/28 June to raise money for MNDA when I shall be walking 25km from London Paddington to Hayes which will be a big challenge for me.”

“I’m doing this is becuase I’m an agency healthcare assistant and help in the community in and around Bristol, looking after people with all different kinds of needs.”

“I’m currently working with someone with motor neuron disease. He and his family have been an inspiration to me – they are always so positive and so loving.”

“The association do so much for people like him, such as supplying them with equipment and giving them constant support. I believe that more people could volunteer or even just give a little money or give a little time.”

Carrie has an online fundraising page here.
