Pedestrian killed in collision on M5 motorway at Burnham-On-Sea

Police have appealed for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision on the M5 at Burnham-On-Sea during the early hours of today (Wednesday, April 30th).

A lorry travelling northbound was in collision with a pedestrian at about 12.50am and a man aged in his 40s was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident happened shortly before 1am on the northbound section of the motorway between junctions 22 at Burnham-On-Sea and 21 at Weston.

“Collision investigators are keen to speak to anyone who was travelling along the motorway at the time of the incident, who may have information to help their enquiries,” a police spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the collision investigation unit on the force’s number 101.

The northbound carriageway was closed for several hours and re-opened just before 5.30am while investigations were underway.
