Burnham-On-Sea’s Mayor launched the town’s mini lighthouse trail on Saturday (May 3rd).

Burnham’s Mayor Cllr Martin Cox and Town Crier Alistair Murray were the special guests at the launch event alongside members of HABA (Highbridge and Burnham Artists) who have organised the trail.

The Burnham Lighthouse Trail comprises 33 mini 6ft replicas of Burnham’s iconic beach lighthouse which are now at shops and businesses across the area.

A special fun day to launch the Burnham Lighthouse Trail was held at Burnham’s Lighthouse pub in Highbridge Road.

HABA’s Sarah Berryman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It’s great to launch the trail today – we’ve already had lots of very positive feedback.”

Mayor Martin Cox added: “I think the trail is superb and hope it will bring more visitors into our town over the summer months. I congratulate the HABA team for all their hard work.”

The Lighthouse Trail will raise funds for Burnham-based cancer support charity Petal, which is run in memory of resident Christine Woodberry who died of cancer.

They have been built at Woodberry Brothers and Haines in Highbridge by Paul Plume. Trail maps are available to buy from the tourist information centre on Burnham’s seafront and participating shops.
