Burnham-On-Sea library will be marking National Libraries Day today (Monday, February 3rd) with an afternoon of fun-filled activities.

The event is being held from 2-4pm and will include free storytime sessions for under 5s (from 2-3pm), a drop-in jewellery making session (£1.50 for materials), a parchment demonstration, and a drop-in reading group.

There will also be a family history session (pre-booking advised) for visitors to find out more about researching their past.

Now in its third year, National Libraries Day is part of a national celebration of libraries and library staff.

It is held during a week’s worth of events and activities in public, school, college, university, and workplace libraries highlighting their work promoting learning, literacy and the enjoyment of reading to all.
