Hundreds of job seekers from across the Burnham-On-Sea area flocked to a recuitment fair in the town on Tuesday (February 18th).

Sedgemoor District Council, supported by EDF Energy, organised the event at Burnham’s Princess Theatre and Arts Centre in Princess Street.

“We organised a range of local employers and organisations to showcase jobs on offer for local people, as well as apprenticeships and training opportunities,” council spokeswoman Sam Taylor told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

Among the local employers supporting the event was Brean Splash, Somerset Care, 1610, Notaro Care Homes, Brean Leisure Park, Haven, Unity Holiday Resort and the NHS.

“Job Centre Plus also attending to showcase the variety of opportunities in the area and at the last count employers told us they had 275 jobs to advertise on the day!” added Sam.

The National Careers Service, Bridgwater College and Somerset Business Agency was also on hand to give help and advice.
