Job seekers in the Burnham-On-Sea area are being encouraged to attend a recuitment fair in the town later this month.
Local residents who are looking for a job or who are considering a change of employment, or who want more information about improving their employment prospects will be welcomed at the event.
Sedgemoor District Council, supported by EDF Energy, is organising the Recruitment Fair on Tuesday 18th February at the Princess Theatre and Arts Centre in Princess Street.
“We have organised a range of local employers and organisations to showcase jobs on offer for local people, as well as apprenticeships and training opportunities,” council spokeswoman Sam Taylor told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“A range of local employers including Brean Splash, Somerset Care, 1610, Notaro Care Homes, Brean Leisure Park, Haven, Unity Holiday Resort and the NHS have confirmed their attendance and many will have details of current vacancies.”
“Job Centre Plus will also be attending to showcase the variety of opportunities in the area. At the last count employers told us they had 275 jobs to advertise on the day!”
The Recruitment Fair will be open between 10.30am-12.30pm and 1.30pm-4.00pm.
The National Careers Service will also be on hand to give help and advice on topics such as interview skills and how to compile CVs.
Bridgwater College and Somerset Business Agency will also be available to discuss how residents can enhance their skills for future employment opportunities or set-up their own business.
