Horse rider knocked unconscious and hurt after Brean beach fall

A horse rider was rushed to hospital after being thrown onto hard sand when her animal was spooked on Brean beach on Thursday (June 5th).

The lady, aged in her 20s, was knocked unconscious when she fell from her horse near the main car entrance at 2.20pm.

The beach warden raised the alarm and ambulance crews were quickly on scene to treat her and take her to Weston General Hospital.

An ambulance spokeswoman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The lady had been thrown from her horse. She had suffered a possible hip injury and was taken to Westo General Hospital for an assessment.”
