Burnham-On-Sea history trail given backing by local group

-

A Burnham-On-Sea group has this week given its backing to a project to launch a new history trail in the town.

At its June meeting, Burnham’s Moose International Lodge welcomed John Strickland, one of the enthusiasts behind the plans to launch the history trail this summer.

He gave a overview of the plans to launch the history walking trail around the centre of Burnham, starting at the soon-to-be-installed railways buffers in Pier Street.

The Moose brethren decided to support the railway buffers project with a donation of £50.

Following on from John was invited guest speaker, local postwoman Valerie Stone, who gave an interesting talk about some of her experiences over the years whilst delivering Royal Mail in the Burnham area.
