The countdown to the start of Highbridge’s 67th annual Festival Of The Arts is over, with the competition getting underway today (Thursday).

A record-breaking number of entries of talented youngsters from the ages of three upwards are competing in venues around Burnham and Highbridge from March 6th-15th.

“With record breaking entries, this festival promises to have something for everyone,” the festival’s Chairman, Denise Berry, told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

The Dance section starts off the festival from Thursday 6th to Sunday 9th March at The Princess Theatre and Arts Centre.

The Speech and Drama categories will then run from Monday 10th – Tuesday 11th March, also at the Princess Theatre and Arts Centre.

“The music section will be at different venues this year, bringing the Highbridge Festival Of The Arts back to Highbridge,” added Denise.

“The Music Section will run from Wednesday 12th March – Saturday 15th March at venues including St Andrew’s Church, Highbridge Community Hall and Churchfield School.”

Festival programmes are available to purchase The Princess Theatre and Arts Centre. For more details about the festival or to become a friend, call Maureen Phillips on 01278 780615. The festival originated in Highbridge in 1948.
