Video: Burnham seafront hit by high Spring tides and 60mph winds

-

Residents living along Burnham-On-Sea’s seafront breathed a sigh of relief on Saturday evening (February 1st) as high tides and gale force winds failed to cause any flooding.

Waves over-topped the sea wall in several places, especially around the Pavilion, where plumes of water splashed onto The Esplanade but there was no significant flooding.

The Environment Agency issued a precautionary Flood Warning for seafront residents and homeowners in Berrow and Brean as 60mph winds coincided with high Spring tides. Also pictured are the scenes on Saturday morning.

There are further high tides on Sunday with an 11.8m tide at 8:52pm when the Environment Agency is still advising precaution.
