Burnham High Street set to bloom again as flower baskets return

-

Hanging baskets will be returning to Burnham-On-Sea town centre for the first time in two years next year.

The floral displays have not been in place along the High Street since 2012, as pictured, due to safety concerns about the aging lighting columns.

However, new lighting columns are due to be installed in the New Year as part of Burnham’s town centre improvements project when a dozen flower baskets will also be installed along the High Street.

“Burnham In Bloom will be planting the flower planters, while discussions are underway with Hillview Carnival Club on watering the plants as a fundraiser for them,” Town Centre Manager Bev Milner Simonds said this week.

“It will be great to see the town centre flower baskets returning again, adding a splash of extra colour to the High Street.”
