A night of comedy and live music held in Highbridge on Friday (March 7th) raised more than £4,000 for those devastated by Somerset flooding.

The Oaktree held an evening of entertainment featuring stand-up comedian Buster, local band The Mangled Wurzels, supported by DJ Nigel Gulliford.

Organisers Bill and Debbie Hancock, pictured right, said they were delighted with how the event had gone.

Debbie told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “A big thank you goes to everyone who supported the event – we are over the moon to have raised the fantastic sum of £4,010.60 for the flood relief fund.”

“We had more than 160 people attend the event and lots of backing from local businesses for the auction and raffle items. Our thanks go to all the companies for their support.”
