A dozen traders will be selling a wide range of locally-grown products when Burnham-On-Sea’s monthly farmers market returns to the town today (Friday).

Stalls will sell local produce including fruit, local meat, vegetables, cakes, cheese, pies, bakery items and milk in the High Street from 9am-1pm.

Market co-ordinator Louise Hall told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, so wrap up warmly and come and enjoy the opportunities to shop for food related gifts as well as your usual monthly shop of fresh produce.”

“How about a whole salami from Ellises Farm, who will not be at the December market, for an unusual stocking filler or chose from a special range of Somerset chilli sauces.”

“There are preserves from Country Markets, and how about a locally produced bottle of wine or cider from the Tor Cider and Wine Company, who are popping over from the village of Worth near Wells.”

“Clare from In Clover will have some exceptionally hardy plants, but at this time of year her skills as a willow weaver come to the fore with hand-crafted wreaths and willow gifts made from Somerset withies.”

“Taylors Traditional Bakers are launching their Christmas range with treats such as traditional recipe puddings, luxury port and brandy and frangipane mince pies, onion, cranberry and sage bread plus a delicious stilton and walnut loaf.”

“Come and make a morning of it on Friday with hot Chaider from our apple juice stall, hot food on the day from the Red Chilli Locomotive and lots of great shops in the High Street.”
