BMX world champion’s jersey to be auctioned at Brent Knoll fundraiser

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s BMX world champion Liam Phillips has donated a signed World Championship and domestic BMX jersey for a charity auction this coming weekend.

Family and friends of Chris Evans, who died nearly two years ago from a progressive lung disease, are holding a 25-mile cycle marathon.

The shirt will be up for auction at the bike ride, which will be held on Sunday 29th June starting at 11am at the Red Cow in Brent Knoll.

“We are very grateful that World BMX Champion Liam Phillips has kindly donated us a signed World Champion jersey and his domestic racing top which will be auctioned at the ride,” said a spokesperson.

Starting from the Red Cow, riders will complete a 25 mile round trip to Catcott and back to the Red Cow for a well deserved barbecue, with meats supplied by Havercroft Butchers. The auction will take place in the gardens of the Red Cow and monies raised will go to the British Lung Foundation.

Tickets can be purchased from the Red Cow or Post Office, Brent Knoll and costs £10 per adult and £6 for a child.

The Chris Evans Bike Ride and BBQ is in its third year and has raised over £3,000 for the British Lung Foundation. For more information, call 07899677975.
