‘Carols in the Cove’ at Burnham seafront gardens attract crowds

-

Carols and mulled wine were enjoyed in Burnham-On-Sea’s Marine Cove gardens on Saturday (6th December) during a popular festive afternoon.

Dozens of people attended the ‘Carols in the Cove’ event, organised by The Friends of Marine Cove and Sedgemoor District Council.

The children of St Joseph’s School were accompanying The King Alfred Youth Brass Band under the direction of Sarah Alsop.

There was also a stocking hunt around the gardens, with free sweets for the children up for grabs. Jacqui Strong, Sedgemoor’s Community Gardener, said: “We had a great afternoon and thank everyone for their support.”

The event also raised £30 for In Charley’s Memory, the charity recently launched in memory of Burnham teenager Charley Marks.
